It is a chemical process which cannot be avoided, so be kind to your silver jewels and take good care of it.
Some basic jewelry care tips are:

Oxidized Black Silver
Oxidation is a way to process silver to obtain black color. The oxidizing isn’t permanent, since it’s a surface treatment. The color will wear off over time (e.g. perfume, sweat, air and daily use). This is not a defect, it’s feature of the design. You can however always re-oxidize your jewellery your self at any time using this simple and safe method: How to Oxidize Silver with Egg Yolks Or send the item to us for a fee of 50 SEK and we will re-oxidize it for you and send it back. Shipping is paid by the customer. The finish is a grey-black – a charcoal/gunmetal shade. Due to variations in computer monitors, it may look darker or brighter than it is.
Gold plated silver
To slow down the process of wearing off the gold plated, avoid water and damp rooms, perfume, lotions or chemicals that can damage your jewelry. Plated pieces can be gently cleaned with a soft cloth.
